Zidane s Red Card - FRANCE lost to ITALY in penalty 5-3
I was devastated and in shock after the match this morning, 5.20am.
It was such a tough match that requires extra times and still end up in 1-1. I wasnt really disappointed with the fact that France lost to Italy over one unlucky shot. Yeah Penalty kick, its all based on luck. Poor guy with number 20,I forgot his namehe didnt make it.
But what got me really devastated was the fact that Zidane, my man, in the last few minutes of the extra time, received a red card. All happen in the fits of anger. Why? Why must this happen to the greatest midfielder?. Why must this happen to Zizuo. I was so upset and at the same time felt a lot for him.
During the whole 90 minutes, he was really cool. Even though he injured his shoulder and leg, he still keep his cool and play. I don’t know what got into him. It was so sudden the whole butthead situation.
He was not given the chance to even receive the medal instead was sent away as a punishment. I heard after receiving red card, you need to watch the whole match in a room. This world cup was his last yet he couldnt finish in victory. I saw from his face, a lot of disappointment and regret. There goes his title of the being the Man of the Match, or The star of this year world cup.
I am having some headache now, wanted to just forget about this event, but everywhere I go, internet, blogs, radio and tv. Everyone is discussing about this event.
Here a little articles to describe:
What an occasion the 18th Final produced with excitement at the start and incredible drama at the end as Zidane, on his farewell to the game he has graced for so long with his graceful skill, was shown the red card. On it went to a penalty showdown and five unerring Italian spot-kicks delivered them the title of world champions, with David Trezeguet the luckless player to miss. With Fabio Grosso converting, his country edged one Trophy behind Brazil in the pantheon of FIFA World Cup winners.
Zidane will remember this night for as long as he lives. France had promised to repeat their success of 1998 for their retiring captain and only he will know what possessed him when he thrust his forehead into the chest of Marco Materazzi. Zidane had to go, accompanied down the tunnel by the glare of thousands and thousands of flash bulbs and the tears of the legions of French supporters.(Reuters)
